How to play

Goal

Fill the grid so every row, every column and every 3×3 box has the numbers 1 to 9, each exactly once. The starting numbers can't be changed.

Controls

Tap a cell: Select it
Tap a number: Put it in the selected cell
Notes: Switch to pencil marks: numbers go in small, and tapping one again removes it
Erase, Undo: Clear the cell, take back your last move
Hint: Fill one cell and explain why it's right
↑ ↓ ← →: Move around the grid, or click a cell
1–9: Put a number in the cell
Shift + 1–9: Add or remove a note (pencil mark)
N: Switch notes mode on or off
Backspace: Erase the cell
Z: Undo
H: Hint: fill one cell and explain why
P M: Pause, mute

Daily puzzle

A new puzzle every day at midnight, the same for everyone. It's harder than Medium but easier than Master. It always uses the 3-mistake limit and has no hints. Solve it on consecutive days to build your streak.

Helpers

Selecting a cell lights up its row, column and box, and every copy of its number, including in notes. Placing a number removes it from the notes it rules out. The small counts on the number buttons show how many of each are left.

Mistakes

3-mistake limit (default). A wrong number turns red and costs a life. Lose all three and the puzzle is over.
Instant check. Wrong numbers turn red, with no limit.
Show clashes. A number turns red only when it repeats in a row, column or box.
No checking. Nothing is marked until the grid is full.

Change this in Settings.

Levels

Every puzzle has exactly one answer and can be solved by logic alone, with no guessing. Easy needs only the basics, Medium needs pairs, Hard needs a trick like an X-Wing, and Master needs several.
