Zombies want your braai! Lob water balloons from your raft and knock them into the sea, from Durban to Cape Town. 20 levels and 4 bosses.
A zombie throwing game on the South African coast
Braai & Brains is a free turn-based throwing game. A beach braai has woken up a crowd of goofy zombies, and they want the boerewors. Your crew stands on a raft made of tyres and throws water balloons at the zombies, and the zombies throw back. Soak them until they topple, or knock them off their deck and into the sea, before they do the same to your crew. There's no gore, just a lot of splashing.
What's in the game
- Four worlds of five levels: Durban Beachfront, the Vaal Dam, the Knysna Lagoon and Cape Town Harbour. Each world ends with a boss: Big Bru, Oom Vleis, Ouma Oyster and Captain Snoek.
- A crew that grows: Mia and Sipho start, and Zola and Biltong the dog join from the shop.
- Zombies with their own weapons: surfers, tourists with ice lollies, lifeguards with rescue buoys, fishermen, braai uncles with hot coals, grannies with balls of wool and sailors with anchors.
- A shop with Triple Splash, Chilli Bomb and Bottle Rocket specials, plus upgrades like a bigger raft, sunscreen for extra health and bigger balloons.
- Up to three stars a level, depending on how much of your crew's health is left.
Tips
- Aim for the head. A head hit does extra damage and can leave a zombie too dizzy to throw on its next turn.
- Check the wind before every throw from the Vaal Dam on. It changes each round, and it pushes the zombies' throws too.
- The Bottle Rocket flies fast and almost straight, so it barely drifts in strong wind.
- A zombie near the edge of its deck is one good knock from the sea. The Chilli Bomb's blast shoves hardest.
- Bosses are too heavy to knock off, so wear them down instead. Ouma Oyster hides behind her shell every other round.
- You keep the coins you earn even if you lose a level, so a tough level still pays towards upgrades.
