A one-tap flying game starring a hadeda
Jumping Gerald is a free, cosy flying game. Gerald is a hadeda ibis, the famously loud bird of South African gardens, off on a flight across a sunny garden full of trees. Keep Gerald flapping through the gaps between the trees without bumping a branch or landing on the lawn. Every tree you pass scores a point. The gaps start out forgiving and tighten slowly, so it's easy to pick up and hard to put down.
What's in the game
- Swaying jacarandas that move up and down in the breeze among the ordinary trees.
- Nine outfits for Gerald, bought with the coins you collect: a beanie, a cosy scarf, a flower crown, flying goggles, a sun hat, a party hat and more, up to a royal crown.
- Hadeda facts on the menu, more than twenty of them, from why hadedas are so loud to what they dig up on your lawn.
- A sign in the garden that marks the tree matching your best score.
Every course has been checked by computer to make sure it can always be flown.
Tips
- Find a steady rhythm of small flaps. Panicky bursts send Gerald into the branches above.
- Aim for the middle of each gap, not the edges.
- Jacarandas sway up and down. Watch their rhythm as you fly in and time your flaps to meet the gap.
- The flight only starts on your first flap, so take a breath first.
