A sliding car parking puzzle

Taxi Jam is a free sliding block puzzle set in a busy South African taxi rank. Your minibus taxi is boxed in by cars, bakkies, trucks and buses, and every vehicle can only drive forwards or backwards along its own lane. Shuffle them out of the way to clear a path to the exit. Every puzzle has a par: the fewest moves it can be done in.

What's in the game

• 120 levels in four packs: Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert, from quick two-move warm-ups to brain-benders that need 36 moves.
• A daily puzzle, the same for everyone on the same day, with a streak to keep and a result you can share.
• Three stars a level for matching par, with undo, restart and a timer for best times.
• Hints that show the next move on the shortest way out, three per level.
• Eight paint jobs for your taxi, unlocked with the stars you earn.

Every level and every daily has been checked by computer to make sure it can be solved in exactly its par.

Tips

• Work backwards. Find the vehicle blocking your taxi's row, then work out what's stopping that one from moving.
• Trucks and buses are three spaces long, so one standing across your taxi's row often has to go all the way to the end of its lane. Make room for those first.
• Moving the same vehicle again straight away still counts as one move, so you can adjust it without losing a star.
• Stuck? Levels open three at a time, so skip ahead and come back with fresh eyes.
• A hint caps that solve at two stars, so try a few moves of your own first.
